Hello! My name is Valerie. I moved back to Minnesota after six years in the sun-washed high desert of New Mexico. I achieved my undergraduate degree in Liberal Arts in 2012 from a unique college focused on discussion, collaborative inquiry, and learning from direct sources. Partly because of my unique education I have strong egalitarian values. I’m an extrovert who often surrounds myself with introverts because I’m an includer. In a workplace, I value diverse opinions and work to make sure everyone has a voice at the table. I am most happy when I’m sharing resources and connecting people and their talent to the resources that will help them thrive.

I pursued marketing and communications after landing my first job at a nonprofit organization. The organization grew at a fast pace. I think the number of employees quadrupled in the four years I worked there. Many times, I experienced learning a new tool or system only to turn right around and teach it to the newest hire. I built the company’s data analytics program from scratch and was the resident advocate for data integrity across systems. My love of teaching and mentorship go hand-in-hand with my love of effective communication. Through marketing, I want to open channels of communication between people and companies with brilliant ideas and the audiences or individuals most in need of those ideas.
